Distemper Disinfecting?

I lost my Poodle a month and a half ago to distemper, I have scrubbed everything with Lysol and shampooed all the carpets. Everyone says to use bleach, but Lysol is the same thing isn't it? I was also wondering about the back yard, how do I fully disinfect it? I have purchased a new pup, but he won't come to live with me until he is fully vaccinated at 15 weeks old. I am still very nervous though and want to make sure that every inch is safe. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
