Vertigo and dizziness?

I am flying to the states next month, and I have been getting dizziness, I dont feel sick at the moment, but sometimes, if I lay either on my left and right side my ears hurt a bit, in other words it is a bit uncomfortable, what can I do to get rid of this, and also what can ido about it when I fly in the plane. what is the best cause of action, and have just taken a stemetil tablet for this.
