What is the largest rectangle that can be inscribed in an equilateral triangle with sides of 12? ?

I am review of an AP Calc test, and I'm really confused on how to solve this. I found the area of the triangle 36 times the sq rt of 3 but I don't know if that contributes to the answer at all... please help... so lost :[
