PARACHUTE REGIMENT... (INDIA)?

you can join the parachute regiment just like any other regiment e.g. gorkha, guards, etc. depending on your merit from OTA or from IMA. Officer entry minimum height is 5 feet 2 inches(could be lesser) for all arms except "army aviation".the special forces section requires extreme physical and mental fitness. remember u can be a member of the parachute regiment without being a para commando (special forces). For special forces you will be put on probation for 3 months where you will be rogered morning to evening and the evaluated. The Parachute Regiment is just like any other regiment of the Indian Army. The Army Special Forces(Para commandos) are selected form the Parachute regiment.There is no best battalion. All battalions are trained to operate in all environments. For non-officer entry I am not sure, but I think you need to join other regiment and then transfer to parachute regiment. Cheers mate.
